Just Lost My Job… What Do I Do Now?

Hey guys, so live update here- as of a few days ago, I just lost my job.

Don’t worry, everything is alright.

This was completely out of the blue.

I was hired just 2 months ago to lead the team in terms of outbound sales efforts.

But due to company restructuring I was let go –

and this is what I’m going to do about it.

So, if you’re like me, and you just lost your job, or you’re in a tough situation…

And you’re thinking, “What do I do now?”

Here’s what you can do.

We are going to treat this as a building a sales pipeline,

and I’ll show you exactly what I’m going to do, to get myself back into a sales job using my sales skills.

To get a new account executive role with base of at least 80k-100k and OTE earnings of at least 160k-200k within 30 days.

  • Have my updated Resume ready
  • Have a templated Cover Letter I can easily edit

Daily Action Items:

  • Prospect and apply for at least 10 new Account Executive jobs via LinkedIn, Indeed, & Monster
  • Follow up to any job inquiries
  • Show up for any scheduled interviews

This exact roadmap got me a job 30 days on the dot when I came back from Colombia and sought to join the workforce again.

And I’ll do it again.

Now if you haven’t interviewed for some time, it will take some practice to get good at delivering your “pitch

And just what is your pitch?

It’s you selling yourself.

don’t you realize how sales is basically life?

Even when you’re looking for a job – I’ll set it up like I’m building a sales funnel, because I am.

Your job applications go in the top, and out the bottom you get a job offer

I’ll fill the top of the funnel with prospects (applications and inquiries)

And eventually turn one of them to a sale (job offer)

And in your actual job interviews, you are selling yourself.

How good are you at selling yourself?

Let me tell ya…

Every time I’ve given myself permission to be more myself

It’s resulted in more success.

This has been true for me whether in sales, business, or dating.

What do I mean by that?

What I mean is…

Every time I was more genuine, authentic, or just being who I am – it’s almost always resonated more positively with people

Whether they are customers, potential bosses, or just.. the girl I was asking out on a date.

People want to deal with human beings.

They don’t want to deal with robots.

So if you’ve lost your job…

How can you stand out amongst the other people that will be interviewing for that sale role?

The answer,

by being you.

You want to share what makes you different.

What makes you stand out amongst your competition.

For example, was it because you had to face particular challenges to get to where you are today?

People will resonate with a real story.

Or is it because you have a thirst for knowledge and read over 200 books on personal development and business over the last few years?

Whatever it is, it has to be true. And it has to be you.

What makes you stand out from your competition?

What makes you unique?

As you’re pondering on those questions –

do you see how what you’re doing now is the same thing you do when selling a product?

What makes your product different from your competition?

What makes your product unique?

Just like selling a product, you are selling yourself to a potential employer!

To live is to sell,

and applying for a job is really just creating a pipeline of job opportunities, and selling yourself as the product!

It’s really no different than anything else.

If you’re experiencing tough times, or recently lost a job –

I invite you to get your resume ready and apply to 10 applications per day and see what results you get!

Please share your results as you build your pipeline of job opportunities!
